The Effect of Scrolling Frames on Screen and Page Positioning


A scrolling frame is a type of input or output frame that displays more than a single image (one image for each record, up to a maximum number of images), and formats those images in multiple rows and/or columns. The maximum number of images that can display in a single scrolling frame is limited by the relative sizes of the frame and the image. The images that display in the frame can all be the same alternate image definition, or consist of any combination of alternate images.

Images for scrolling frames do not have predefined positions. APPX determines the (multiple) positions for displaying an image within a scrolling frame. These positions are influenced both by the scrolling method, and the relative sizes of the frame and its alternate images.

APPX supports two general methods of scrolling:
